I love my birds. They are better than cheesecake... well it's slim, but yeah, they're sweeties.
We started with 1. Chip. He's so cute! Little blue sweetie. He gets on the finger no problem. His wings are getting long too. He can ALMOST fly to his cage from the phone antena perch he seems to enjoy more than anywhere else (other than the computer room... must be an electronics fan).
Then we decided to buy 2 more that were male & female. They showed signs of really liking each other at the pet store. I watched them for about a half-hour. They never left each other's side. So I felt bad cause I knew if someone bought one of them, they wouldn't buy the other... and then they'd be lonely and miss eachother. So we bought both. Hannah and Emerald. They are cute too, and Chip loves having friends now. Since Nathan and I are in school all day long now, we don't have time to play with them as much as we used to in the summer. So he really needed some companions. It's truly torture to leave birds alone fr hours on end. They weren't meant to be loners. At least not Parakeets. They used to flock in Autralia by the hundreds. They're social creatures and need attention.
Anyhoo, friends are coming to hang out so I'd better scoot.
Much love.
